Introduction to Cyber Security

Welcome to my 2nd blog. I'll be talking about cyber security and the threats we face, especially the attacks on power grids. I'm focusing on the cyber security of power grids due to the attacks towards them in the recent years. Unfortunately, the attacks aren't limited to power grids. Cyber warfare is also crucial, especially during war time to gather as much information as possible.

In these times, electricity is necessary to live our day to day lives. Almost every job uses electronics such as computers, mobile phones or other machinery that most of the time require electricity. An example of a cyber attack on a power grid happened in Ukraine [1]. To not interrupt people's daily lives, cyber security plays a crucial role.

The protection of our data is extremely important. Not just for the average people, but also for the governments, militaries and businesses around the world. These organisations save and process lots of data that is required to keep the engine running. As the cyber attacks increase, the responses must be very quick to protect people's data along with national security. (Goutam R. K., 2015).

A big "draw back" is that cyber security is really expensive for the people and any other organisation. It can be too expensive for smaller businesses which makes them an easier target. (Buch R.*, Ganda D., Kalola P., Borad N., 2017).

My presentation aims to show the audience the importance of cyber security for our daily lives and for different organisations. Everyone should know how cyber attacks can distrupt not just us but nations and even militaries.
